The Apurva Kempinski, Bali
Standing atop the majestic cliff of Nusa Dua, with breathtaking views of the Indian Ocean and tropical gardens, The Apurva Kempinski Bali is a luxurious haven which captures the essence of Indonesian culture. UK-based architects, Denton Corker Marshall, drew inspiration from Bali’s rice terraces and their centuries old subak irrigation system for a modern Balinese design for the property highlighting natural-clad stone buildings, bougainvillea-covered terraces and a network of waterways and shimmering pools. Opulent interior spaces were realised by local craftsmen and pay tribute to the country’s rich design heritage, at the same time, have modern touches that anchor The Apurva in the present day. In the guest rooms, rich exotic woods, local fabrics and Indonesian motifs create a sophisticated mood.
The resort features 43 spacious one, two and three bedroom villas with private pools, lounge areas and tropical gardens, 176 suites set along the clifftop overlooking the ocean, additionally, 256 grand deluxe rooms featuring traditional Indonesian decorative elements and spectacular views. There are six restaurants, bars and lounges that celebrate regional flavours such as Koral, Bali’s first aquarium restaurant, serving coastal delicacies from around the Indonesian archipelago; Izakaya by Oku, where the menu highlights Japanese flavours; Selasar Deli in the lobby serving refreshments including Luwak coffee and jamu herbal tonic; and casual dining at Reef Beach Club.
A delightful ocean-facing spa and fitness centre offers treatments inspired by traditional Balinese healing practice to promote balance and well-being.
Other facilities include a 60-metre swimming pool, a separate children’s pool and family club for shared moments for families. The resort also caters for meetings and special events, with a large pillar-free ocean-view Grand Ballroom, and collection of meeting rooms with ocean vistas.
